Massachusetts Poetry Festival 2009

The second annual Massachusetts Poetry Festival is almost upon us! Whaling City Review will be hosting a kickoff event in the New Bedford area on Thursday, October 15th, and the rest of the weekend’s festivities will take place in Lowell on Friday, October 16th, and Saturday, October 17th.

Michael Ansara, co-founder of the festival and one of the coordinators of this year’s events, will be coming down to Mirasol’s Cafe in North Dartmouth (http://www.mirasolscafe.com) this Sunday, July 12th, at 3:00 PM to talk with local poets and lovers of poetry about the festival and how we in southeastern Massachusetts can be a part of it. We’d love it if you could join us.

For more information, on the festival, please visit http://masspoetry.org/.

For directions to and a map of Mirasol’s Cafe, please visit

Also, please drop me an email at whalingcityreview@gmail.com if you’re planning to attend; I’d like to let the staff at the cafe know if we’re expecting a large crowd.

Thanks,
Maggie

Thanks to all who attended the meeting this afternoon! I got an email from Michael tonight, and the folks from the Mass Poetry Festival are very pleased that people from our area are enthusiastic about being a part of this year’s events. More details about upcoming planning meetings to follow.
