Chris Souza is Whaling City Review LIVE’s Featured Artist for National Poetry Month at Baker Books
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Massachusetts (April 11, 2011) – April is National Poetry Month! What better way to celebrate it than coming down to the Bean and Leaf Café at Baker Books for a reading featuring Chris Souza – a bright, creative, and accomplished poet and educator – on Saturday, April 30th, at 7:00 PM.
Chris Souza earned her Master’s in Creative Writing at Boston University where she studied under Robert Pinsky, Derek Walcott, and Rosanna Warren. Her work has appeared in fine journals nationwide including American Literary Review, New York Quarterly, West Branch, Salt Hill, New Delta Review, Gulf Coast, and Connecticut Review. She has twice received the Nevin Prize for Poetry. Her work has also been feature on Verse Daily. She lives and works in Massachusetts.
An Open Mic for anyone in the community who wants to share their poetry or short prose will precede the reading. Come early to sign up, or email whalingcityreview@gmail.com.
